Our Heritage
In 1951 he rented out a shop in front of petrol shed Adjoing to the bus stand at that time.
1963 he shifted his business place to a two storey building which he has built in front of the police station at that time.
Mr. William Ariyaratne passed away in 1980 and his son Ajith Ariyaratne took over the business and running up to now.
In 1990 he has added the pawning section to the business.
2010 he demolished the old building and built a 5 storey building for his business.
Also in 2020 he renovated the building again to give a fresh new look.
At present we manufacture gold & silver jewellery according to the customers design & their maximum satisfaction. Also we have a ample stocks of various silver and Gold jewellery in our show room.

In 1951, Modern Jewellers began its remarkable journey in Ceylon (now Sri Lanka), founded by the visionary late Mr. Sarath Hemachandra.
